2026 Fresh Tart Pie Cherries Information

Predicted Arrival Information

Welcome to our 42nd season! To guarantee your buckets for this year’s harvest, you must submit your order commitment through our 100% online platform below. Due to unprecedented regional weather factors, please read the critical crop update below before submitting your order.

When Cherries arrive, we have a 3-day window to have them all picked up before they are frozen.  We will turn our cooler down on Sunday evening, 7/12/2026 to start the freezing process.  Saturday pickup is highly encouraged this year!  If you pick up your cherries on Monday, they may be slushy to frozen.  This is to maintain the quality of the fruit, which we will not compromise.

If you will not be able to pick them up within this time frame, please DO NOT place an order.

⚠️ CRITICAL 2026 CROP & MARKET UPDATE

This year’s unseasonably warm winter and spring created unprecedented agricultural challenges, including an early bloom followed by a severe hard freeze. This freeze heavily damaged or entirely eliminated fruit crops throughout Utah and multiple major tart cherry-producing states, resulting in a severe nationwide shortage.

To put the scale of this disaster into perspective, our grower’s immediate neighbor, who normally processes 25 million pounds of tart cherries, is completely shutting down their processing plant this year because there is no fruit.

  • Our Supply Status: Because of our 40-year relationship with our grower, Scofield Fruits has been placed on their exclusive priority list. While they are fighting through a slim 20% crop in their area, they have expressed confidence in being able to fill our orders.

  • Our Pricing Promise: Because of the national shortage, the raw cost of fruit from the orchard has increased by a steep 63% to 70% depending on the bucket size. We know this is a heavy jump. Because we deeply value your loyalty, we are restructuring our pricing layout this year to absorb a significant amount of this market pressure ourselves to ease the pain for our customers. We want to ensure your family traditions, bakes, and brews can keep going through a tough agricultural year, and we are keeping these buckets as affordable as humanly possible.

📌 PRICING DISCLAIMER & CO-OP NOTICE Because the harvest is in disaster mode, the grower’s regional CO-OP is meeting on June 18th, and we expect a finalized, firm price lock around June 19th or 20th. To open orders on time, our posted online prices reflect the best current market estimates available from the orchard based on meetings to date. We are hopeful—and our grower feels optimistic—that there will be no further price increases from the co-op.

Any final price updates will be sent directly via email. Please note that your online order confirmation will not be updated to reflect these changes; the final balance will be modified and adjusted at the register during your in-person pickup.

🚨 CRITICAL: Target Arrival Date & Potential Schedule Shifts

Our current projected arrival date for the refrigerated truck is Saturday, July 11th, 2026.

HOWEVER, please read carefully: Because of the unseasonably warm weather, there is a distinct potential for the harvest to move ahead by one full week. If Mother Nature accelerates the crop, it would push our pickup weekend directly over the 4th of July holiday weekend. We are trying at all costs to avoid this scenario, but we are ultimately at the mercy of the orchard.

Please keep a very close eye on your email inbox and our social media pages after you place your order. If the harvest dates shift, we will notify you immediately.

Heads Up

Frozen Pie Cherries (8# Buckets and 2# Bags) will be available at our Stand daily through the end of the season.

We do not maintain a surplus of 27# buckets and un-pitted cherries. They are available by “Order Only” for pickup within our 3-day window.

If you are interested in Frozen Pie Cherries, please DO NOT place an order.  Frozen Pie Cherries will available daily through September at our stand.  We still have a limited supply of frozen Cherries at the fruit stand now!

UN-PITTED CUSTOMERS

Un-pitted Cherries are “Special Order ONLY”. Over the past couple of years, we have had a few customers who have neglected to pick up their orders. Additionally, a couple of customers have experienced and questioned some discoloration of the cherries closest to the top of the bucket. This is normal as the destemming process essentially opens up the fruit at the stem, allowing air to contact the flesh. The orchard does their best to eliminate as much air as possible in the top of the bucket or bag liner. Do not be alarmed if you experience this, as it is the result of cherries being kept fresh for our short pickup window, and not immediately frozen. Customers MUST commit to picking up your orders if you place them. Otherwise, we will have no choice but to implement a pre-payment requirement for un-pitted orders.

Lastly, our online ordering page has an “Optional” field for your phone number. Please include your phone number when placing your order so that we have a quick way to contact you if we have any discrepancies.

This year’s weather could drastically impact availability. Once we receive firm details, we may add them to our ordering platform as separate, standalone items. Stay tuned!

❄️ Quality, Temperature, and Natural Browning

  • Fruit Temperature: With only a 20% crop surviving, the orchard may need to chill the cherries down much quicker than usual to preserve quality. While we always strive to have them arrive entirely fresh, your cherries could arrive slushy or partially frozen. This is normal orchard quality preservation.

  • Top-Layer Browning: Fresh destemmed or pitted cherries always have a chance of showing minor browning on the top layer from the natural air gap in the top of the bucket. This does not affect flavor or baking quality.

  • Safe Transport: While temporary transport straight home is perfectly fine, we highly encourage bringing coolers with you for pickup. Please note that we cannot control storage conditions once the fruit leaves our stand.

💳 Payment & Pickup Information

  • No Online Payments: The system will calculate your total for reference, but no payment is collected online. All payments are collected at the fruit stand in Loveland at the time of pickup. There is no food tax in Loveland.

  • Strict 3-Day Window: Once the cherries arrive, we have a strict three-day pickup window before they must be frozen. To preserve quality, our cooler will be turned down on Sunday evening to begin freezing remaining stock.

  • Saturday pickup this year is highly encouraged! If you pick up your order on Monday afternoon or later, the cherries will be partially or fully frozen.

⚠️ If you are unable to pick up your fresh cherries within the designated timeframe, please do not place an online order. Frozen pie cherries (8-pound buckets and 2-pound bags) will be stocked at our stand through the end of the season while supplies last.
